Talking Rio Grande River Trip

Just got back from Big Bend National Park after spending several nights on the river. Started off boondocking at the Cotton Wood Campground. It was still cool enough in the evening's that the fantastic fans were only needed a few times through the early evening. The next morning I took my rig up to the Castalon Store, leaving it parked behind the store for two nights. Others in my group transported me and my sit on top kayak down to Lajitas were we put into the river. We spent two nights, three days on the river, this trip could be easly made in be made in one night two days if started early on the first day, but with a large group we did not get started until around 4pm, Shuttling all the cars and boats took the time because of the roads you need to travel. First campsite was on a island about 6 miles down river, then second night was at fern canyon inside of Santa Elena Canyon. This was a fantastic trip. We took out about 1 mile down from the mouth of the Canyon. I Went back to the store a picked up my Bambi, thanked the store clerk (who lived on site)then off to the Chisos. Afer eating a nice meal at the Chisos Dinner the tent campers in my group decided that with a predicted 40 degree low at the Chisos Basin campground they would rather camp down at Rio Grande Village, so we moved down to the Village where I set up for one night. The next day it was off to a Back Country camp site called Talley 2, this is located down the river road, a high cleareance only road. I left the Bambi parked in the stores parking lot for the night with the rangers permission and took the jeep and tent camped at Talley 2 for the night. This is a primative camp site located out in the middle of now where, with fantastic views of the night sky. The next morning we launched the group into the mouth of Mariscal canyon, I stayed behind to help shuttle vehicles from Tally the put in site to Solis the take out site, the we then did black gap road a 4x4 only road. Went back to Rio Grande Village and set the Bambi back up in the campground for another night of boondocking, Discovered that Rio Grande Village had (that day) just installed free Wifi, so if you camping down at the Village it now has free wifi at the store, and in the parking lot. I was not able to get it down at the campground. But with a different antena it might be possible. I will post pictures later
