Restaurants at JC?

We are having work done at Jackson Center next week. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant in the area? Nothing fancy, just good food.

Thanks in advance.

There is supposed to be a place in front of the manufacturing building parking lot. We thought it was out of business, but several folks said that it was still open and they found it convenient for their stay.

The Inn Between is West on 274 on the other side of I75. It is a popular place with the locals so you may have to wait for a table. Also places in the towns around.

Good luck. Pat

The Verandah has closed, and re-opened under new management, and a new name.
There is also a Subway, and I remember there being an ice cream shop in town, as well. It is next to the auto parts store.

The Heidout was open last June and was good for burgers and beers. If you stand in front of the service waiting room its on the side opposite the terra port. We had three meals in two days at the Heidout.

We'll be there June 1st, thanks for the input. What's the terra port like?

+1 for Heidout. We had a burger and would go back again. It's a local bar (pub?) but good for basic food.

Take time to check out the hardware store just a block or so east of Airstream. If you like pickles be sure the ask for Rickle's Pickles at the hardware store. If the hardware store doesn't have Rickle's in stock they can tell you where to find them in other nearby towns.

30 amp service, water, sewer, paved and lighted. You will need to make sure your trailer is ready for the service center to pick it up by around 7 am.

The Terra Port is several circles of sites oriented in a star or sunburst arrangement. You back in and drop. As stated above, there are full hookups. The Terra Port is on the right hand side of the Service building when viewing from the main street. It may not be easy to see if you arrive late. Drive in keeping the service building on your left. As you get to the back of the drive there is a sign on the right with Terra Port info. The entrance to the sites lays on your right as well. If you are scheduled for service have the trailer ready for the tractor to pickup and deliver to the service bays.

Travel safe. Pat

Heidout has good breakfast. We ate there three days in a row at 7 am when they took our trailer. At the bar, alongside locals drinking beers...

Not sure of the name. If you walk out the front of the service building and turn right about 1-2 blocks on the same side of the street there is a nice little restaurant. When I was there they only accepted cash. It was good food, nice portions and inexpensive.

Well the trip is done. We arrived Sunday night about 6:00 pm so the only food was at a Subway that was out of many things we would have liked. Open til 9:00pm. The next morning The Hideout, down the street west of the the service center, was open for breakfast which was excellent. It's a bar so they likely keep bars hours. If we weren't leaving our Airstream for service we would have brought our own food.

Factory tours only run Monday thru Friday at 2:00 pm.

Our dog freaked out when she ran outside then couldn't figure out which 'stream to come back to. Ha

The factory tours, if you ask and have enough people, are done at earlier times. Calling ahead can work wonders.
