I've noticed that too on trips north...
Turning on the squirters only adds the necessary ingredients to make more ice, and the wipers just spread it out across windshield.

Oh..at Boyd's...lots of activities inside campground.
A nice Tiki hut with weather channel on a TV. (was handy for me on a bike)
And as far as swimming from camground...there is a small beach area.
From photo above most campsites have a coral bottom and is very shallow.
That has advantages too though...no boat traffic.
It is a great location, very close to everything.
Gong out to eat on a Monday or Tuesday is much better days.

Obey all speed limits on your way to Key West.
