Reconnoiter Savannah

Savannah, GA reconnaissance needed. In a few weeks, we'll be at a convention/hotel at 5711 Abercorn St for a few days. All the listed RV Parks are quite a distance from there. When I Google mapped the location, I saw, in the satellite view, what appears to be a RV/trailer park nearby. To the west is the "Savannah Technical College" on White Bluff Road. Just to the south of this school is the park in question. Access is: From S/B White Bluff RD, turn W/B on Schley Av, take second right N/B on Mayer Dr (may be Gannam Av) past Oliver Av, to the park entrance on the right. If you come to Perimeter Rd, you went too far. As I said, in the satellite view, this looks like a RV Park, but of course no signage is visible. Could I get someone to give this place a drive by and see what is there. If it looks like a place where I could comfortably park my Airstream for a few days, I'd appreciate their (the park's) contact info. If not, I'll go ahead and make a reservation at one of the parks listed in the books. Tnx for any trouble.

Haven't been to the RV park you are asking about but Skidaway Island state park is only a few miles from your meeting place and is a very nice place to stay. Also a little further, but close to the beach, is Rivers End RV park on Tybee Island.

If you like Italian food there is a small Italian restaurant called Bella's Welcome to Bella's Italian Cafe of Savannah, Georgia just around the corner from your meeting place. It is in a small strip mall but the food, service and prices can't be beat.
