That would explain the difference in prices between others' and Shane's. I'm also willing to believe that he recently bought 60 pounds, two 30 lb tanks full, but not 60 gallons. As his second post said, "Confusing."

Not so bad once you get used to it, though.
Thank-you, I WAS confused...using the wrong measurement.

DOH!!!

We're at $2.08 a gallon. I had a wet feed on my 500 gallon tank to fill RV and BBQ tanks. Thanks to the EPA, most companies won't install a wet feed any more due to liability issues and environmental concerns.

Here In Tucson lately I've been getting filled at $2.50 + 9.1% sales tax, a little less then $20 for a 30# tank.

I did a little better today on the Northside of Jacksonville. I had two 30# (7 gallon) aluminum tanks filled for $22.50 each works out to $3.21 per gallon. I got these aluminum tanks at a garage sale and they had the old type valves. The shop refitted these tanks with new valves for $18.50 each, which I thought was pretty good.

We pre purchased in August last year at $1.70 per gal. I didn't know you could buy propane anywhere in the US for .87 .

Last I checked, "head price" (the price of propane per-gallon coming off the rail car) was $1.52 a gallon. I get mine at $2.07 per-gallon and use about 3,000 gallons a year in the hot air balloon biz and have a 500 gallon pump station. Prices have gone up over the past couple months.

$2.75 per gal. at Lakeview RV park in Houston, (about $20 for a 30# tank), which is not bad, but electricity is $.155 per kwh. Like the theme from one of Jerry Seinfeld's episodes, "everything evens out"......

Currently, we're charging $2.75/gallon for folks staying with us at the park, and $3.25/gallon for everybody else. Since the park is effectively closed now, it's basically $3.25 for everybody.

We paid $2.99/gal at a fuel station near Petaluma, CA 2 weeks ago. Saw it as low as $2.75/gal somewhere in Oregon I think.

U-Hauls in San Jose wanted over $4/gal.

Just filled two 30's in Texas and the total cost with tax was $44. I know they were empty because brilliant me didn't refill them before our last trip (just got back yesterday). Woke up at 2am freezing cold---LP tanks had run out. Nighttime low was 26 degrees. Long cold night. Lesson learned.
