Presence app for iPhone- Security

Hi all,

My wife and I both have iPhones, and on a recent trip we were in a nearly empty campground and wanted to leave for the day. I was a bit hesitant about leaving the AS unguarded, so decided to leave one of the phones in a window with the Presence app running. It is a free app that we have on both phones. It detects motion, and sends a short video to the other phone via email. The active phone can also be monitored from the other phone in the app.

In the event that the trailer was stolen, we could either a.) get back to the campground fast/call cops, or b.) use the Find iPhone app to track the trailer/call cops (and remotely lock the phone and erase data).

One thing is that the phone being used as a camera needs to be on the charge cord.

Sounds good, if you have good cell service in both locations... I assume it uses phone motion sensors to detect shaking or rocking of trailer, and can't "see" motion the way some camera sensors can, but is that true? Does it also record images on phone acting as camera, in event someone snooping but doesn't actually steal trailer and phone?

It actually detects visual motion. Doesn't record any more than just the short clip it sends by email. Perhaps in a future upgrade. The latest version can control a robot device to change the attitude of the camera.

We use a drop cam. Not terribly expensive and works off any Internet connection. You can watch it from you iPhone and even have the video stored on line. It is a constant stream. We got it to keep an eye on the dogs when we are away from home.

Sounds good. If someone took your stream the"find my phone" would come handy as well.

This drop cam sounds interesting. Where can I get more information?

Thanks.

Like the find my phone feature of prescience. Will down load it and try with my iPad.

As you can see the dogs don't make very good guard dogs for home or trailer! Our main concern was they were not to hot (thermometer in view of camera) and that they weren't having other dogs over for a party!

Does anyone know of incidents where peoples' Airstreams have been stolen from campgrounds? Or broken into?
