Prep for numbering our AS

We definately fall into the procrastinators anonymous category.
We never put our numbers on our original AS and now that it's been over a year with the new AS, we're finally ready to put our numbers on ARVIN.

I'm absolutely anal about centering and lineing up the numbers so I'm not worried about that part. What I'd like to know is other than taking some all purpose cleaner (or something else you might recommend) to the surface, what other things should I do so that the surface is properly prepared?

Rubbing alcohol

I use rubbing alcohol to clean any residue off most surfaces as a finale prep. It should be OK for your clear-coat but, I would test this first.

FordTruck,
When we applied our numbers I washed the area then polished it to make sure it was clean.

Then I followed the instructions that came with the numbers. Squirtting Windex or soapy water on the surface allows you to slide the numbers around and once you have them alligned to your satisfaction, just squigee out the bubbles and Windex/soap and your numbers will be secure. I did the same thing with my AirForums stickers too.

One day I am going to remove the vinyl number and have both of our Airstream hand lettered and "named".
