I'm gonna wait. At the rate the prices are coming down on these things, next year they might be free with a tank of gas. Of course a tank of gas may be $300 by then.

I got 20% off on my 260 Nuvi via a friend.. The guy at the store said they had just got their first shipment of them in a hour before. It speaks road names and does everything I need for a great price. Paid 260 for it...

We use a Garmin m5 w/GPS...pocket PC. Has been great for us when traveling, has removable SD card which also accepts SD wifi card for internet access. Synch it w/ my laptop, runs Excell & Word (other Windows apps too). Screen is about 2.5" x 4", Can watch movies, slide shows, etc. Whatever you save to an SD card or load onto it.
We use it for directions when traveling, geocaching, grocery lists, Honey do list, composing a letter/email while "camping/hiking", save to SD card, and send it later.
I'd highly recommend it if you want to do all that stuff w/ one unit...I guess most phones do that now though.

I ordered a Nuvi 360 today from Costco.com for 250 bucks, another 50 bucks for the sandbag mount thingy, usb cable, and the 120V charger. Hopefully it'll be here in time to use it on the trip to the rally, but I know where the place is anyway.

the nuvi's are great. make sure you know your state's law in regards to dash mounted GPS. in california, you are not allowed to have a gps mounted on your dashboard (although i've seen plenty of people do this, like that suction cup on the windshield). check out ProClip Mounting System *-*Choose Your Country they have a great mounting setup for most any vehicle. i have one for my nuvi and blackberry in my tahoe and my wife has one for her phone in her 4runner.

Mio c320

The wife bought me a Mio c320 for Christmas for $150 at Radio Shack during Black Friday.
I could not believe how good it is.
It even talks, tells me where to go.

I love my Garmin GPSmap 76CS. I use it in my vehicle, I use it on my boat, I use it while hiking. Multi purpose and easy to deal with although don't expect a panoramic display. The unit does the job exceptionally well if you buy all the right mapping software.

Not sure about the differences between the 360 & the 350....the other reasonably priced one at Costco was a 250. It only had maps of 48 contiguous US.....I wanted Canada and Alaska and maybe Mexico. I've been driving OTR for over 35 years now, so I know how to get to most places already, but, hey, toys are cool. Maybe when the cell phone I have dies I'll get one with bluetooth so it can talk to the GPS and they discuss with each other why I'm taking this shortcut I know....

My son got me a NAVIGON from Radio Shack. A bit harder to use but still pretty nice for the money. It does tend to argue with me when I try to take short cuts. My wife says that just helps keep me in line when she is not aboard....

Nuvi 360 has Bluetooth Wireless Technology and the 350 does not. Since I'm not into all the bluetooth cellphone stuff, I am looking at either the Nuvi 350 or the 650 which has the larger screen.

craig,

i have the 350 because i didn't need all the other bells and whistles (although is does come with quite a few, i never use them). i'd recommend the 350, the screen is actually plenty large. you really don't need it any bigger in my opinion. whichever one you get, i also recommend selecting the female australian voice, i find it quite enjoyable as she's telling me what to do

David,
I'm leaning toward the 350 because it is more in my price range and I have heard from a few people on another forum that it really is a good unit. Thanks.

Got the 360 and accessories today (the accessory pack might have been redundant, but the sandbag thingy is gonna get used).

Figuring out how to set this thing up oughta keep me out of Susan's hair for a while.

I like the Australian lady.
