planning a trip in the Spring......east on hwy 50

Has anyone travelled hwy 50 east of Missouri that they can recommend any campgrounds. It seems the campgrounds going East are harder to find than travelling west.

In Illinois on the east side of the state the roads will rattle the teeth out of your head. There is a run of the mill state park right off the road (Red Hills State Park), havent been there in years so I cant tell you much about it.

Going east, you can cross into Indiana at the Lincoln Memorial on the Wabash (I think it may be on Old 50) there is also the George Rodgers Clark Memorial, President Harrison's house, and tons of historical stuff. I would definitely give Vincennes a full day if you have the time and a historical bent.

Is hwy 50 in eastern Illinois an old cement road? Those interstates that are cement are often bad and will shake a person nearly to death. That is why I want to avoid all of those we can.

Yep, I want to say it was redone some in the late 80s, dont quote me on that. Might not have been that recent. From Sumner over you might try Old 50, it might be better, but I havent been on it for years.
