Yeah, ugly, aren't they? I get really tired of seeing those things here at the park. A curse on the landscape, IMHO!

So she killed some time here...

Is she broke down? No! It is pack rat prophylaxis to leave the hood open. At first Michelle thought we were pulling her leg, having always thought that pack rats are mythical creatures like unicorns or something. But then when she saw Jak with his hood up, she reluctantly agreed she'd leave her hood up for the couple of days she parked here. Besides discussing the horrors of pack rats, we had a great time talking, enjoying the local cuisine...a trip to Madrid where Wild Hogs was filmed for supper at the Mine Shaft Tavern.
Sara is a delightful, feisty and fearless feline just like her human mom.
We were sad to see her go but she's off on new adventures.

If our New Mexico sunsets had cooperated, this would have been her view from her bedroom:

I have to admit. It is the aliens.

I have a Verizon Broadband card, laptop and a broadband router. I have morethan one computer that I connect to the internet. Campground wireless is un-reliable.

Well I wil lbe on the road again tomorrow. After nearly a week in Mesa visiting a friend I wil be heading North and west. First US 60 then US 93. Looks like I will be stopping in or near Las Vegas. Cheap Casino campgrounds anyone? This is where I will be making my decision to head up I-15 unlikely, US 93 likely or US 95 Most likely. It has the lowest terrain all the way up into Boise. It looks like very little snow is going to fall in central Nevada.
Expected arrival in Boise, Thursday.

dag namit... I was racing through this post as fast as I could.... you missed the greatest least known thing in Arizona.... Between Holbrook and Winslow is the Rock Art Ranch

This is one of the coolest places I have ever been. It is a working cattle ranch and has a phenominal cowboy and indian museum. But the greatest thing is the canyon where native peoples have been leaving their marks for 30,000 years.

There are tens of thousands of these pictographs and petrographs in the canyon on this ranch. It is all private and very protected. Sorry I was not able to chime in earlier... The Grand Canyon was impressive, but the Rock Art Ranch was way more fun.

We stayed for a night at Circus Circus - right in Vegas. I can't remember if it was cheap, but it was definitely cheesy!
