Places (of Airstream importance) enroute between Flagstaff to LAX to Las Vegas?
This weekend we're picking up my mom at LAX. So we are hauling the family out, doing the Disney for kids, and buying some affordable thrills at the tables at the Strip on our way home.
But what about the places to see that caters to the aluminum fever? I know that the Iowa Boys is somewhere in the region. What else? Petersen Museum, where we have never been?
Leaving on Friday and I only just thought of asking today.
I hurried to Barns and Noble to pick up a copy of Airstream Living, not sure if there's any info for this particular need in there, but good bedtime story for sure.
You can always drive by the piece of freeway that WAS the original Airstream factory ~ although there is nothing there now, except freeway.
Also, Wally is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetary in the LA area. You may find this article interesting, if you are a "Wally buff", it's from the WBCCI DenCO newsletter, written by Forrest McClure a forum member.
I'll be thinking of you Ricky...I'll be in Fountain Hills this weekend!
Shari

I marked the old factory location on my Atlas. It's quite close to Anaheim so a drive by is unavoidable. Further up on I-5 just below Glendale is the Forest Lawn. Perhaps I should get a card and some flowers upon arrival. (The only resting places I've visited in the past without family ties are Arlington and Gettysburg.. Yet Wally's influence on a personal level is great as well.)
