Palm Desert Equalizer Hitch

Greetings. We are passing through Palm Desert and notice that our Equalizer hitch ball is loose. Any info about a local service shop would be appreciated.

try any auto shop, they might have a socket and bar to tighten it. Or, you might need to purchase a new ball if the threads are damaged.

You'll need a thin wall socket. Also the spec torque is 450 lbs.

The ball can come loose if grease or oil on the ball leaks down onto the ball nut and threads. No big deal, just something to watch long term

Thanks to all who responded. We found a mechanic-Singh’s- in Desert Hot Springs, who assisted us. Great service.

I think I can help

If you still need help, I’m in Palm Desert and I’m pretty sure I have the necessary socket.
