Oven door

My new FC28 didn't come with a microwave. Rather, it has a gas oven below the cooktop. So I am using it tonight for the first time to heat up a lasagna and i got the pilot light lit and the oven is heating to 400 degrees. But the door doesn't close completely and I'm afraid the heat escaping will delaminate the counter and cupboard door immediately adjacent. So I duct taped it closed. I guess I need to expect little things to keep happening in my brand new AS.

Sorry for your troubles. These things amaze me...... according to the AS website, the 2016 28' FC is "starting at $85,847". 2016 Airstream Flying Cloud Floorplans & Specs | Airstream

And the oven door won't close???

Congratulations on your new AS. I hope it's an easy fix. Enjoy your lasagna!

Same thing happened to my 05 when I first got it. It turned out that there are springs which hook onto the hinges of the door - one on each side. In my case the hinges were there - just not hooked over a little protrusion on the hitch. I could see the springs by looking through the slots the hinges came out of. I immediately knew that I needed something like an oversized crochet hook to pull them out and snap them over the end. So - coat hanger cut and bent...

Then 20 minutes to fish the first one, and about 30 seconds to get the second one. Learned a lot doing the first one.

I suppose I could have removed the oven for easier access to the springs - or you could wait and take it back to the dealer - but at least take a look AFTER the oven cools down of course.
