Tekonsha Prodigy lifetime warranty questions

Has anyone had experience with getting a new Tekonsha Brake Controller with their lifetime warranty? We replaced ours in Ft. Collins and I noticed on the box, it says it comes with a limited lifetime warranty.......

My first call to Tekonsha got me information that dealers can give an over the counter exchange......the numbers were no longer reading on our device but it still controlled the brakes.....it worked in a feel only sort of mode. Apparently it is not so easy to get an over the counter exchange....so now we can send it back to Tekonsha and they may or may not give us a new one......but we bought a new one already......so if they honor their limited lifetime warranty....we will be the proud owners of two new Prodigy brake controllers......

If you are one the road, and your brake controller has an issue and more often than not, your controller would have an issue when you are on the road, how is it possible for their warranty to work unless it comes with an over the counter exchange? On hind sight, perhaps we should have immediately overnighted our controller to them because we did have a few layover days.....just wondering if anyone else has had experience with this....paula

Tekonsha Prodigy saga

Today I received a FedEx label to return the Prodigy controller to Indiana. So will find a packaging store and will send it by Fed Ex Ground to Goshen, IN.

Of course, if they replace the unit, it will now be sent to my home in California.....so if all goes well, we will have a new Prodigy P2 that we can try to sell in the classifieds......or ebay.....that will have to happen
after we return from our trip. paula

Oh, you mean my law practice management advisor......like my husband, I will check with him.....he is watching me jump through Tekonsha hoops I am afraid......

Now why did we leave Colorado? I am sure there was a very good reason......tomorrow we go to the Kansas City Bar Association....maybe that is the reason....paula

We saw this thunderstorm from a distance, as that very day we were approaching Colorado when it blew in. We avoided it, by going south before we got to Cheyenne, then west to Fort Collins, and then north to Wellington (wish we'd known that the Fort Collins KOA was so nice! We'd have saved some time and stayed there, instead of going north to Wellington.)

The storms pretty much stayed east of I-25 and we would see the rainbows to the east......maybe it is the topography that allowed to see the full arcs.....we were lucky to not have had any troubles with the storms....the good thing is that it showed us leaks we didn't know we had and we had a chance to do something about them...and, yes, that KOA Lakeside is a good one.....it is north of Ft. Collins and they told me they had never had a tornado there.....they do have rabbits and rabbits...our boxer was fixated on getting one. The fenced dog run was so nice to exercise our boxer. And it is very close to Rocky Mt. National Park.....easy day trip.....also downtown Ft. Collins has a fish restaurant called Fish that is excellent....+ an excellent Airstream repair person nearby.

Today was in the high 90's here in the Kansas City area.....we are actually in my hometown of Oak Grove which is now a truckstop on I-70. And Walmart is the big shopping store.....most of the local stores are gone now. My brother has an extra lot next to his house that we pulled our Airstream onto and we are hanging out in his air conditioned home.paula

We had a thunderstorm this morning.

At 6:30 am, the sky was a beautiful mixture of white clouds, sun and dark clouds......soon the dark clouds took over and it started to sprinkle. I remembered leaving the back window open so I ran out to the trailer to close it, and then the sky opened up.....it poured and there was thunder and lightning.....so I stayed inside and waited it out.....frankly, I was not sure if Airstreams attrack lightning and I didn't want to find out.....they said on the news that if you can hear thunder, you could be struck by lightning......

It cooled things off a little but now it is sticky......we really didn't count on it being this hot.....of course, we don't have a 30 am hookup here so no airconditioner....

We will try to blow a little rain your way....you need it too. Oh, yes and we have 3 small leaks inside.....argh....

My brother's next door neighbor has a 60's Shasta in his drive....we met them today and they wanted to see our Airstream....I wanted to see their Shasta.....it is in pretty much original shape with the original stove (barely used) and refrigerator, toilet and gas lamp and sleeps 6 .......but it is missing it's wings.....they didn't know it had wings, so I pulled out one of my books on vintage trailers to show what the wings look like.....now they are on the hunt for Shasta wings....you can see where the wings were.....it is always fun for me to meet fellow vintage nuts...

have a great week...nice to hear from you.......paula
