Our New Airstream

OK, it's just new to us. After considering and searching for 2 years, including pestering the gang at Colonial with lots of window shopping, we picked up our 2013 23FB from them last Friday. Lauren, Kevin, and Joe at Colonial were great about getting us all set up and on the road safely, and we then spent two days camping in the Catskills at North-South Lake (North-South Lake - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation). The previous owner kept this trailer in like-new condition (thanks!), and you'd never know it was ever used. We had one minor issue with the water pump, which Colonial is replacing for us, but other than that everything went flawlessly. And we're sure glad we upgraded our Tacoma for a Tundra...

Thanks to the Airforums community for all your accumulated wisdom and posts, it helped us a lot. We can't wait to get her back on the road again!

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Congratulations on the new baby! May you have many great Airstream adventures with her.

We also have a 23FB (a 2012) that we just got last November. We had a 25FB for eight years prior to downsizing.

Greetings from North East Coast,
Congratulations on your new Airstream Flying Cloud! We too have had a wonderful experience with the terrific folks at Colonial Airstream & take delivery of our Flying Cloud in 22 days! We are planning boondocking "at home", maybe a weekend or two before heading to Adirondacks late summer. The North-South Catskills NYS Park might be a stop heading north on the NY Throughway.

Be sure to post pictures of your new FC & travel adventures....enjoy!!!

OK, pics as requested... the first one is just after arriving at the North-South Lakes campground site. We love the Fiamma bike rack, it's a lot sturdier than the one we use on the back of the truck; second is hanging out waiting for the sun to appear; third is on the of the Sunset Rock trail, looking east across the Hudson to MA.

It is. We hadn't really researched ProPride, but did more reading after we saw that the trailer came with one. Love it so far...

VTSmitty,
Thanks for the pics.
Wow! Did you luck out with a "pull thru" at North South Lake? Your site looks great ... did you need to use your heater on your journey to VT?

I just re-read your original posts and was curious ....is the interior golden alchemy w. leather? We might have been in the unit in February during our first visit to Colonial.

No, we had to back it in. It was a longer, tighter entrance than we had planned for, but the walkie-talkies, patience, and luck got us through. As far as the heater, we ran it just enough to make sure it worked, but didn't need it.

The interior is golden ultraleather with dark countertops. I think that it showed up at Colonial in mid-Feb, so you might have seen it.

It was 12.5 on the trip, with a fair amount of stop and go and a pretty good headwind on I-87. We're hoping for closer to 14 over the long run.
