It breaks my heart to see that. Does anyone have an idea of what happened?

Oh, that makes me sick... Hope no one was hurt. If it was an Airforums member, hope they post what happened.

In about 6 months we'll probably see that trailer on Ebay :
"for sale, great shape, salvage title, only needs a couple of body panels to be camping ready" .

Looks like a straight piece of road, and he did a 180 and ended up in the wrong direction. Unless he crossed the center divider.

My guess is excessive speed or emergency braking.

It looks like nobody was hurt -- thank God for that.

Blow out? ST tire?

Has a solar panel.

Want to know the details, hitch, tires, brake controller, all the information.

I wonder if they were traveling with a full black tank.

That's a sad thing to see, hope everyone's ok.

Looks like the rear tire on the truck is flat, that could be a cause or a result.
That doesn't look like a really big trailer for that truck, even a small trailer can spin a 1/2 ton.

It looks like the truck remained upright... no visible signs that the truck rolled, but clearly the Airstream did at least 90+ degrees.

Ouch³.

Letsee... Left lane and had to avoid a merge intrusion into their lane and ran out of narrow paved shoulder to meet the steep highway fill prism slope complete with eroded spots with extra loose ballast gravel* at high speed...

Some over-compensation steering and trailer skated well past the edge of the pavement, hit gravel, locked go frictionless, went all the way to jackknife as truck kept braking with two wheels back on pavement, popped the coupler and the chains let the trailer roll & dig in that swung everything around as it passed the tow vehicle...

No fun. I bet probably the hardest part of driving is knowing when NOT to stay on the pavement and just let the speed bleed off in the median, barring signs, culverts, bridges and the like...

*See the nice bright 'disturbed' gravel along the shoulder going back to edge of picture?? Its a shame the State can't be ticketed for contributing to a vehicular accident through non-repair of lanes & waysides...
