All great suggestions. We are also BIG fans of Sea Perch RV in Yachats! Also, in our opinion, from CA state line south, they are typical California roads. They SUCK!
Enjoy the beautiful OR coast!

From Florence, however, you can head inland to Eugene and visit this outstanding Airstream restaurant. I'm serious.

WARNING: This time of year, closely check weather and road conditions before traveling OR-126 between Eugene and Florence. It can be a killer (and has).

Mosey on 101? Very heavily traveled road and everyone is trying to get where they are going as fast as they can. Beautiful drive though.

Next Stops from Astoria are Fort Stephens and Cannon Beach RV. Bike paths on Stevens are great and somewhat scenic. Cannon beach RV is extremely nice, and a short walk downtown and Haystack Rock, Pelican Brewing, and some very cool restaurants. Since these two parks have so much to do, you might want to stay at both. Frankly, I would rather spend time in those parks and scenic areas, than the crowded Redwoods. Get reservations soon! Dave

Kelly, have you been here? I live not from from 60 e 11th ave and often go by on our regular walks. The site is a building recently being redeveloped commercially. It used to house Hutch's ?? Bike shop.

I don't remember seeing this in the downtown area.

Fort Stephens in the northern part of the coast. Humbug Mountain in the southern part of the coast. I don't know what to tell you in the middle part of the coast. Have fun ! !

From an Oregon Native

From north to south...

Nehalem Bay State Park is just south of Manzanita, a must-see town (great little restaurants and shops) and section of the coast.

Farther south, Cape Kiwanda RV Park in Pacific City with a short walk to Pelican Brewing...oh, yes, and one of the most beautiful stretches of the Oregon Coast.

We found a small gem of a park last summer at Mercer Lake Resort north of Florence. This is east of Hwy 101, so not right on the beach, but the lake more than makes up for that. There are only a few spots here.

Honey Bear by the Sea north of Gold Beach. Again, a beautiful stretch of the coast, but some of the best scenery is inland, just down any old road heading east.

Harris Beach State Park north of Brookings, but only if you can book a site with an ocean view. There are some spots farther back and just off Hwy 101 that are a little noisy.

What's nice is that you're traveling outside of the high-volume season, unless you're hitting spring break somewhere in there.

Have fun.

Hoping to get there soon myself. It seems more and more Airstreams are popping up as restaurant venues these days.
