On the road to wherever we end up....

House is sold, our new to us 2008 30' Classic Limited is pretty much road ready and we have left the building! Thanks to three good friends, we found this trailer, spent a lot of time finding and fixing leaks, installing new skylights, a great solar system, new brake actuator and adding a lift kit, and we are at our first stop...Raleigh NC spending Memorial Day weekend with our two daughters.

We hope to be out on the road for up to 1.5 - 2 years. Our mission....see the USA, revisit Canada, meet as many likeminded travelers as we can, and maybe find a new place to call home. If I can convince Jeanne, maybe take another journey up to Newfoundland. We are staying in NC, SC, PA and OH until about June 24, then our calendar is completely open.

Selling the house, downsizing, getting our trailer ready, has been slightly stressful. But all behind us. My one true heartache is that our traveling companion Jake will not be with us.

So we will be posting along the way. Hope to create a blog. All you folks already out there, we hope to meet you somewhere.

Congratulations. Good luck on your adventure. Enjoy it and make some fantastic memories. Keep us posted on the great experiences and warn us about any close calls. Think carefully and do the good things a bunch and the bad stuff never.

Drive safe and keep the smiles multiplying. Ain't life grand! Pat

Have a great time! From the looks of the tropical weather report and your intended destination, you're about to find out how you did with those leaks! Take care and Safe Travels!

StrmyWeather....good forecast! Steady rain most of the day yesterday and in late afternoon heavy, heavy downpours for about 2-3 hours. Happy to report, no leaks.

Hope to set up my blog today while my daughters are here to help me get started.

What a trip .........

J&J,

As an old sailor once told me, "there's no way like underway", and since you are, make the most of it !!
Surely it's a good sign for a great ride when you start with no leaks .

A special toast to the big red dog.

See You Down The Road..................

Wow! I think your previous trip to Newfoundland really must have been an incredibly positive experience. "The complaints is many and various but the odd devil likes it" Their rational, once absorbed, can prepare one for anything. Have a great adventure. Jim

Pam, thanks for all your help. And special thanks for your toast. Get out there and come see us.

Jim, sorry we never connected our your trips through NC....we'll just have to pick a different spot.

Be sure to come through the northern part of Arkansas, and especially the NW Arkansas area of Bella Vista, Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, and Fayetteville.

Sounds like a cool adventure! Be careful.... have fun!! (Sorry, again, about Jake...)

Odd how some of us hundreds of miles away can feel your sadness from loss and yet feel the excitement of your adventure. Dogs are amazing creatures. Enjoy and know that there are many of us along for the ride.

We often spoke of doing just what you are, but I guess I just didn't have the "gnads" to make that step. Now we are probably to old to do it. We still travel quite a bit and maybe we will see you somewhere down the line. Judging by the bikes and kayaks, we apparently have a few things in common. You don't happen to have an old guitar or mando stowed away in that rig, do you?

Happy trails!
