Day 21.... Will be leaving Penn Wood two days earlier than planned. We are going to Sugar Creek Ohio on Thursday. Friends told us about the Warther carving museum and Lehman Hardware....going to spend some time at each location....looking forward to it. Will then head to Delaware to spend some time with old Army friends before our appointment at Jackson Center on June 22. Still planning to head south after that to stay at Ft Knox to tour the bourbon trail. Still contemplating whether we want to out through northern Arkansas to Colorado or head north into Montana and Idaho. May have to flip a coin....

You will enjoy the Sugar creek area and might want more time there! Dining at Amish style restaurants is a treat...mmmmmm the fried chicken. The destinations you've chosen are good ones. We enjoy the area enough to visit a couple of times a year. Happy travels!

Day 27......We arrived at Jackson Center this afternoon. Tomorrow my truck goes to the local Ford dealer for an oil change and tire rotation, and out AS appointment is on Wednesday. About 15 rigs camped here. Met some friends from South Carolina who are her for some service. Will likely leave here Thursday and head to Kentucky and camp in Bardstown to do the Bourbon Trail. Makers Mark, Jim Beam, and Buffalo Trace are three we want to visit. After we leave Kentucky we go west through Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska staying off the interstates....so,looking for suggestions on places to see and stay.

Day 31.....just arrived in Georgetown KY, Whispering Hills RV Park, big, new, campground. Be here a few days to visit horse country, see the sights, and take in a distillery or two, or...

Had a very good visit at Jackson Center. Significant main door adjustment, axles aligned, and several other repairs. Same storm that hit WV, hit JC Wednesday night. Nothing like what they had in WV, just lots of rain, some small hail.

Met some old friends there and made new ones. A great stay.

On to Buffalo Trace...

Day 33.... Had a good stay in horse country. Enjoyed the Buffalo Trace distillery and their grate tasting. Left poorer. Frankfort is a neat town, visited Daniel Boone's grave and walked around the capital grounds. Had a super lunch at Rick's White Light Diner....some of the best fries I've ever had. The whole area is quite beautiful and the horse ranches are incredible. The only negative is the campground, would not return, would not recommend. Next stop Bardstown.
Trying to decide if we want to take US Route 412 through northern Arkansas, or meander through Missouri. Since we don't make reservations, this may be one of those times we wish we had....Fourth of July and three day weekend. Would love to find a boondocking place and do some kayaking. If that does not work out, hope to find a small town with a fun 4th celebration.....Any suggestions appreciated.

We are thinking about doing the same thing you did. May I ask, what did you do with your home furnishings, garage stuff? Those things you may want to keep till you settle down into a permanent residence in 1- 2 years? My wife and I are in a quandary over what to do, sale it all for 5cents on the $, store it or give it away.

We lived in North Carolina, so regular furniture brings in nothing. We donated a lot to Habitat and Salvation Army. Sold a lot on Craigslist. We kept our favorite things and those things we would need once we settle on a place. Kids got some stuff as did friends. Tough decisions were what to do about a perfectly good 10 year old Honda....decided to sell. We ended up with a non climate controlled unit for those things that heat and humidity won't hurt and most stuff ended up in climate controlled. We took out a storage insurance rider to cover any damage. Honestly, we kept too much, but it is what it is......good luck!

On a side note, we have too much stuff in the truck and trailer. We know we will get rid of stuff, but we will take our time and try to make sure.

Storing Things

We live in SE Texas, like your area household things bring next to nothing. We'll probably do what you did store too much and move on.
Thanks for your reply and have a great experience, be safe.

Next time in Frankfort, try Elk Horn Camp Ground. It's a Good Sam park, is easy to get to and the folks are nice. We have stayed there multiple times.

Day 35.....ending a great visit to Bardstown. Been here before, probably 30+ years ago. Bourbon trail was new to both of us. Went to Willett, Makers Mark, Barton, and Jim Beam. Add this to the others we went to and we got a good taste, literally, of he great bourbon industry. There are all great places to visit and the tours are all very different. Makers Mark was our least favorite. Best tastings were at Buffalo Trace and Barton. Best overall tour was Jim Beam. They really get you involved and you experience more of the process first hand. At Barton, they had just opened and bottled a single barrel of 1792....and yes, bought. At Jim Beam, we got to wash out a bottle of Knob Creek single barrel, watch it go down the bottle line, get the top waxed and my thumb print in the wax...yep, bought that one too. Also discovered that Devil's Cut is quite good and Booker's is excellent. Out of storage space for the time being.

We camped at White Acres campground. Nice setting, gravel lots, had to level, but plenty of shade. Definitely recommend.

We leave tomorrow to start the western exploration. Taking US 60 to Springfield, than north to St Joseph MOand then into Kansas and Nebraska. Not sure where we will stop along the way, but it I'll be long driving days. Next long stop will be in Cheyenne WY

Hope all is going well on the prairies. I miss them. My older son just went passed Lake Norman on his return to Fort Lauderdale from his annual northern visit so I thought of you. I recon that you may be hard pressed to find an equal home replacement when the time comes. Happy trails. Jim

Stop by the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY, A great place to visit and learn about Corvette History - bonus - the factory is across the parking lot from the museum
