Thanks, just saw that weather forecast. We think we are going to Kodachrome from here, then Kanab, then on the Monument Valley. We hope to miss all that if it happens. Again thanks.

Day 108.... Well, time has come and we must move on from Escalante. What a fantastic place to visit, explore, and be in the great outdoors.

Note: most of our stay was boondocking on BLM. We did come into the town of Escalante and stay at the Shooting Star RV Resort. It is an Airstream motel, with about 10 different models that can be rented. Also a drive in movie theatre complete with snack shop. Michelle and Troy are great host. Our site was among the rented Airstreams and it was fun to visit with the guest. A great stop and strongly recommend as a place to stay.
We are off to somewhere around Kodachrome for a couple days. More to follow...

Catching up.... Kodachrome Basin State Park

This was not on my list of places to visit. As it turns out, Jeanne made a good choice. I'm not a geologist, not a rock hound, but this was a great stop. The campground is five star....no radio, no TV, no internet. However, we did happen on to one little spot that gave us 2 bars of ATT, just to check email.

There are some nice hikes, great views, and fantastic night skies if you get away from the campground. An added bonus was Willis Creek Slot canyon, located outside the park. I just posted photos to my Instagram.....see below.

Note: there were five Airsteams in the campground, all independent. On one of our walks, we waved but it was one of those responses..."leave me alone" I had to laugh, as I recently read a thread on here about Airstream Etiquette. We seem to see more of this on our travels. I'm sure if Jake had been with us, the ice would have been immediately broken.

Future Planning ----- Monument Valley

We are currently in Kanab, UT. We head to the North Rim of GC tomorrow for a couple days.

We are planning on a four day stay in MV.....looking for suggestions on where to stay. Also, any tours. I'm not much for tours, but seems that is the only way to really get into MV except for the one road. If there are any other must see/do things, please let me know.

After MV we go to Canyon de Chelly, then into New Mexico.

Thanks in advance.

We've been at Kanab for four days, we leave tomorrow. Just posted some pics of our hike yesterday into Wire Pass slot canyon and our dirt road drive to a terrific view point of Grand Staircase Escalante. Just click the Instagram link below.

Silver Eagle, I will miss following you on your adventure. That is the best I can do this year. Our beautiful 30' FC will have to remain in storage, as the wife is dealing with the big C this summer. We are hopeful this will be dealt with by Christman and we can get on the road south this winter. We bought a new silver F250 for our 50th wedding anniversary and it sits barely used in the garage. There are probably others who have been vicariously riding along with you. Thanks so much. Happy trails!

We will miss your travelogue but look forward to seeing more photographs in the future. We hope to cross paths again someday.

And of course... we wish you CAVU on all your travels.

Yes..."ceiling and visibility unlimited." I was watching documentaries on modern day presidents (since Kennedy) on PBS and saw that George H. W. Bush had a plaque made and attached to his hometown house: CAVU. I figured with Jeanne and John being veterans, they would know. And with this being a good opportunity to talk behind their backs, I can say we enjoyed meeting them and hope to hang out with them again down the road. I'm grateful for their service and can say they're a heckuva couple.

Been over two years, and still on the road to wherever we end up. Currently fly fishing in Montana and soon heading east to Oshkosh 2018, then back through Canada to Montana for some more flyfishing then on to Balloon Fest
Big trip for 2019 is heading to Yellowknife.
Just wanted to let old friends know we are still alive and well.

And you owe a bunch of that to Jeannie. For putting up with you, cooking GF for you and insisting that you get an easy start.

Keep the windshield full of bugs, the fridge cold, the ford full of diesel, ice in the freezer and grins on your chins.

Keep exploring, ya ain’t seen it all.

So nice to hear you are still on the road and enjoying it. Any place seem like home yet.

As Gary stated above, I pretty much owe it all to Jeanne.

So to answer your question, wherever I am with my soulmate Jeanne is home😇

Currently in Ennis, the Madison is like last fall, only faster and the color is lousy. We will move over to The Big Hole, then try Rick Creek and Blackfoot. Will take a five day break and stay in Helena then to Gallatin. Our last stop before heading east will be in Big Horn July 4/5. Will be in touch soon.

On the road to wherever we end up....

If you get near Bar Harbor. Drive over to Lubec Main. Stay at Sunrise RV Park the most eastern RV campground in the USA. Cross the small bridge enter Canada and visit Campanella the summer home of FDR stay for “Tea with Elenor”. Back at camp grounds watch the tide rise and fall over 20 ft. See the light house near Views are great. Then go into Canada drive over to “The of Bay of Fundy” the tide there rise and fall over 45 ft.
