We traveled around St Louis yesterday and are driving on US-50. Spent the night at Red Hills State Park. It is a wonderful place to stop, $20 with 30 amp. No one is here because of the neat. It was 108 yesterday. We will be headed east this morning.

It's 7am at the Ohio park and we are the only people up and about. It is very different then out west where many people are up early. "

It's been said, among some of us Easterners - quietly -, that all the folks with "get-up-and-go" got-up-and-went to head west during pioneer days.

Enjoying your travelogue. If you get to Eastern VA, we'll be glad to put you up.

Pat

I got up and went, but saw no reason to do it early in the morning. In the east the late news is on at 11 pm (when it should be); in the west it is on at 10 pm.

Leaving early when headed east is a good idea. We have lost a hour on several days because of the time zones. We will get them all back on the return trip.

We were passed this afternoon by Frank (62Overlander) on US-68 as he headed home. We stopped for the night at Rocky Gap State Park just outside of Cumberland, MD. Very nice campground with 30 amp for under $20 with the senior card.

Which way are you heading now? We are supposed to get a break in the heat next week.

I always had issues with my idiot office when working in the Central or West Coast time zones. They would call when they got into the office in the morning, never thinking about the fact that I might be asleep or god forbid eating breakfast. But I was happy to return the favor and call them when I got off work.

Tomorrow will take us to Cranbury, NJ where we plan to spend a week with Jan's Aunt. Cranbury is one of those Norman Rockwell type towns in central Jersey.

A picture from our campsite tonight.

Cranberry Lake? I was there a few times as a kid because my mother's best friend had a summer house there. Fond memories.

Then when I was in college I had a girl friend who went to a junior college near there and we used to go to the back roads there, and, well, you know. More fond memories.

Or Cranbury? Never heard of that one.

It's Cranbury and there is a lake, but I can't remember the name. Cranbury is located just South of Princeton, much of the movie "IQ" was filmed there.

Just for the record, when I passed you, you were doing 70mph. I only know that because I briefly turned off the cruise control to read all the bumper stickers and try to figure out who had a trailer more shiny as mine.. I was hammering for home at 75 mph. Had I known it was you, I would surely have pulled off at the next exit to at least say hello.

Have a great trip. If time allows, please stop through Frank's Trailer Works so I can treat you to a tour and some lunch.
