On The Road K.C. to Omaha & Chamberlain SD

Looking for campground recommendations between Kansas City and Omaha one night and in the vicinity of Chamberlain South Dakota the next, on our way to The Black Hills.

Help would be much appreciated!

We have a nice State park near us at MM 72 exit of I 29 and about 5 mi W on blacktop road. It is Wilson Island St Park. So, you are 72 mi N of IA / MO border and about 20 - 30 min beyond Omaha. Electric at many sites. Water hydrants scattered around. Shower house near center of camping area. Nice dual dump station about 1.5 years old. On the MO river. Reservable sites online. Reasonably priced. And you go by my house about 1.25 mi W from I 29

In the BlackHills we stay at Criss Mountain View just outside of Spearfish, SD--close to Spearfish Cayon, a Top Ten roads in Black Hills. We are veterans of many years attending Sturgis Motorcycle Classics.

I'm from Chamberlain and there is a great city campground right on the Missouri River called American Creek Campground. There is also a private one on the west side of the river called Cedar Shore--it is very close to the Cedar Shore Resort. Enjoy!!

Since you are looking to be along THE River keep the Corps of Engineers in mind. We stayed at a very nice CG just a bit south of Chamberlain at Yankton. Beautiful sites, many waterfront and you'll find the price is right too. Check there website to see if any closer to where you're planning to be.
