On the road for DuBois WY

First planned stop Sioux Falls SD. Then on to Custer SD. Thinking about taking hwy 18 to see wounded knee area on the way to Custer. Then visiting Big Horn national forest on the way to DuBois. Looking to doing some trout fishing and site seeing around DuBois area for several day.

Visited Bighorn national forest, some beautiful campgrounds. Saw 2 other airstreams camped at Sitting Bull campgrounds.
We spent the night at Ten Broek rv park in Ten Sleep Wy. Next morning we were treated to something you don't see everyday.
There was a cattle drive that went right next to the RV park and thru the center of town on their way to the summer grazing grounds in Bighorn NF. Must have been at least 300 are more cattle. What a sight to see! By the way Ten Sleep got it name by the Indians, because it took the northern tribe and southern tribe ten nights each to reach the trading post there, hence Ten Sleeps.

In Dubois Wy, now at the KOA on the wind river, trout fishing and shopping. They have a nice rodeo very Friday night, the local guest ranches even take part in the rodeo. Lots of bear reports in the high country, haven't seen one yet but have talk with several other fishermen that have. Carrying bear spray for sure.

Years ago John Denver sang about "Whisky Basin Blues" - find Whisky Basin south of Dubois on the way into the Wind River Wilderness areas. It's a hike; leave the AS at the campground.
