On The Road!!!

Hi Gang,

The moment has finally arrived, I am officially 'on the road'

I'll be headed out of FL on I-75, then I-10 west up thru LA, thru TX and into NM with a planned work stop to do a little Airstream work there.

Then it's up to Denver for a planning session at the Agua-Hot factory in Ft. Lupton in preparation for the FMCA rally in Redmond, OR. (a little work while on extended vacation never hurt) I won't be back in FL until mid Oct, with the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta being the last hurrah.....HOO-YA!!!

Then to Boise to say hi to Randy at Best RV Supply, and finally the home stretch along I-84 to Hood River for a lot or badly needed R & R.

All of the toys are packed, the sailboards are on the roof of the van, the motorcycle in 'IN' the van, the Toaster is packed, cleaned, stocked and ready to roll.

I should be pulling out this morning (Thursday) and finally on the way. I'll try to post a shot of the rig (very recognizeable) so you can wave or blink the lights if we happen to pass on the road, and I'll also try to post any good shots that I find along the way.

I'll stay connected with my PC and air card, and my new mobile repeater system (just installed).

SEE YA ON THE ROAD!!!!

Officially on the road Lew? And we think cell phoning in the car is dangerous! No wonder the font is blurry... ...or else I need coffee yet.

Have a good trip and great summer!

Have a great trip Lew, and drive safely. This is low priority for you now, as it should be, but if you get some down time, post a picture of your Equal-i-zer installation that we discussed on the other thread.

Thanks,

Randy

Hi Lew,

If you are careening any where near me (Mesa Verde National Park) one hour north of Shiprock, remember I've got Courtesy Parking and you are more than welcome to stay.

My brother lives in Boise and I am pretty sure that I looked at a beautiful Bambi at Best RV many moons ago. All original from WY. If I had known then what I know now I may have been able to whip uf the $8,000 he was asking. (I'm talking '98 here)

Aside from coming all the way from FL, your trip sounds similar to many of my routes. ENJOY! RELAX!

Sounds like fun, Lew. I'm looking forward to hearing of your travels, and seeing some pictures. Let me know how that repeater works out for you. I'm posting now using an aircard and a Wilson Dual Band Bi-directional amp, and it works great.
Have a safe trip.

Oh boy oh boy! Nothing like a great road trip.

We shall see you soon - do you have an ETA for NM? (BTW, A/C is supposed to arrive today.)

Report 1 ....from the 'road'

Yes, there sure it's lot's of road out there......miles of it!

The first day was uneventful, got a late start (sound familiar) and sure notice the heavy load in the van. The taster is doing great! Love my new 16" rims and new Goodrich commercial T/A radials. No more worries about those nasty Marathons!

Landed in Tallahassee pretty late after riding thru a couple of blinding thunderstorms on I-75. Traffic has been OK so far except rush hour in Tampa and to the north........nasty!

I'll try to get a shot up later today at the first rest stop.
Thanks for all of your comments.

Gene, where in Arkansas are you?

Thanks!

Could those 16's go on a tandem axle 25' with 70's? If these Maxxis do as poorly as the Marathons, I'll be looking for other options.
