Off to the Russian River

Well, now that the brake lights are working again we are about to embark on a 4th of July trip to the Russian River in Northern California. It will be very interesting since it will be Kathy, me and only 4 of the 6 kids. I figure that normally the trip would take about 14 to 15 hours so the way we drive with kids it should take about 20 to 24 hours. Although I really enjoy the heat, I am looking forward to a little respit and to show the kids that plants and trees really do grow in America. Any hints would be welcome for the trip, I figure we'll go the 10 to the 15 to the 215 yada, yada to miss all the city traffic. Hope you all have a great 4th and be safe.

Russian River is a Great place to visit. Bring the kayaks if you have them. Where are you staying? I can recommend Casini Ranch, it's sits on the river. Local shops close by. Bodgea bay 15 minutes. Enjoy you stay.

Is the Russian River in the Redwoods? We will be in that area in September.

Have a great time! Let us know how the trip goes, and post pictures.

Right at Jenner where the Russian river goes into the ocean.the sea lions and seals usually cover the sand bar sunning!Beautiful area.I spent 5 summers at Stillwater Cove (30 mi. N on 1) teaching photography.Beyond is the little gallery town of Gyulala and you can cut back across near Lake Sonoma and go down through Healdsburg for wineries.
The Lost Coast is beautiful!

Armstrong Grove right outside of Guerneville is a beautiful redwood park.
