oceanfront in september

Please suggest a good oceanfront RV spot for September (okay to move from time to time), preferably southeast. Golf and such not essential...we are readers, antiquers, walkers and the like. State and national parks okay. Also interested in meeting compatible travelers. We are retired (college teacher and judge) in a 25' Safari with the obligatory yappy little dog.

Take a look at Anistasia State Park in Saint Augustine FL. You can only stay 2weeks at time, but St Augustine has many other private parks on the ocean.

Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama is a place I like. Full hookups and nice bath houses, if you so desire. Also good seafood in the area.

Assategue is awesome in September. the bugs are minimum, water is warm, and the nights are cool. Lots of antiques in the area. Excellent local seafood to boot.

The North Carolina Outer Banks - Cape Hatteras National Seashore would be a good place to start and then meander down southward. Cape Hatteras is where the warm southern currents clashes with cold water and would make moving out and venturing south very rewarding...

Consider Huntington Beach state park, south of Myrtle Beach, SC. It is across the highway from Brookgreen Gardens. Sites in the campground are very large with water and electric.
