Observations on 4th trip

We bought our 2017 Flying Cloud 27FB in late March we have been out 15 nights in her so far. We still really really like her.

Observations:
AC--- works great - we live in FL and today at set up it was 90 & humid. Within a few minutes it was pushing out some nice cold air and within an hour it was mid 70's inside (One unit btw)

Towing- like a dream. Have been to North Georgia mtns once so far and the. F150 with 3.5 Eco boost does great. Mileage 13.3 mpg on flats - not highway speed and 11.5 on highway 65-70 with hills Ext thrown in.

Fit & finish- no major problems. We did have a window fall out on the first trip but JC overnighted one and had a mobile repair man install it at the campground - so support was awesome ( I did a post on the whole ordeal)
Other than that very minor things which I addressed easily.

Thanks for the update. Great picture! And happy that all is going well after the window incident.

It's a great being out on the road!

Look very nice! It doesn't look like you have a full hookup, do you?

Just water and electric- most FL state parks just have a dump station. We are in the shady woods very close 5 min drive ( within the
Park) to a great beach

welcome to Saint Augustine

Welcome to our town ! Anastasia State Park is a beautiful setting and has a beautiful beach in walking distance. The downtown area is characteristically adorned in the manner of the Spanish settlers. The town fathers did a great job of managing the zoning to keep the town's character in tact.

We are looking forward to joining everyone on the road soon. We are picking up our 2015 Classic from Tampa RV on Monday next (6/26) and are excited to start RVing.

Looks like the spot we were in the last time there :-) Love that park and the location. Real close to the best Ice Cream in town.

Glad to see you enjoying the AS. We just got our 2017 Flying Cloud 27FB two weeks ago.
Out once for a shakedown at Ortona South near LaBelle Fl. All went well and heading out shortly.

Exclamation Great to hear you are loving it. One thing though

You mention driving at freeway speeds, say up to 70mph. We've done that as our 2016 F150 Lariat, 3.5L Ecoboost does a fine job pulling our 27 footer.

But read your tire wall information on your AS. Our 2016 International came with tires rated up to 65 mph. I recently noticed that, so now I keep our speed max to 65.

Hi

At least some of the 2017's came with Michelin LTX tires rated above 100 MHp. That's not to in any way suggest that it's a good idea to get your AS up to that speed

Bob
Picking up our 2018 27FB International Friday! I have the owners' manual, which says tires are rated to 87MPH. This is good news to me because I had heard that the tires were rated to 65. While I don't plan to go OVER 65, I can see situations where I would want to go 65 and along with the flow as best as I can. I'd be nervous driving at rated speed though I am sure there is head room in the specs. On the other hand, if you were found to be driving over rated speed and got into an accident because of a blown tire, that could be trouble.

Hi

Take a look at the actual tires on your trailer. The manufacturer will have data on their web site about the speed rating on the tires. I would be careful about owners manual numbers. Your tires may or may not be the ones they were using when the manual was written.

In any case, don't use the tire ratings as the only word on speed. 65 MPH is not a bad number to keep things below. There are a number of threads running around here that go into *lots* of details about towing trailers and interstate highways.
