Number of Airstreams made

Anyone know how many Airstreams are out there? This came up as we were headed home today and saw a fellow Airstreamer.

How many Airstreams are currently made a year?

I heard one estimate of 800/year. Which makes them fairly rare in a country of that size. Pretty rare in the world, actually.

The "Often" mention number is: Less than 100k, since the first one were rolled out of the "factory" or made from blueprints, are still on the road.

I think if you were to ask A/S, they'd reply:

production numbers

I called Airstream in my research for my recently purchased 310 motorhome, and they said they had no record of the number of previous units produced for any of the older models, trailer or motorhomes....jem

Number of Airstreams

I didn't really expect an exact number.

Anything approaching 100K seems like a lot of Airstreams. That would be in the ballpark of 1 per 3000 folks and suggest something like 500 in San Diego area.
