We hit The Narrows at a perfect time. The Virgin River was running pretty clear too.

I have an excuse to go back. My daughter renewed her nurse contract for another 18 months in St George.

Thank you for the tour of your trip. I really enjoyed your pictures of Bryce and Zion. I was there 40 years ago, but because we were in a hurry to go to the Rally in Calif. to see Bob Hope in person, we didn't do any hiking. After seeing your pictures, I wish we had. We were in a 1963 AS. It was sold and we bought a 1987 AS. It too was sold in July this year. We never got out west again spending most of our later years in New England. So thank you again for sharing your trip with your daughter.

Thanks for that! We are planning a spring trip through a similar route (starting end ending in Fl, though). Your experiences are going to be very helpful to us. Being retired, we don't have a time constraint and might be able to squeeze in a few more sights. Even if we were not planning to visit some of the same places, the pics you posted are the next best thing to being there!

Great trip and good reading. We did a lot of the same last April and the temperatures were a lot cooler, though there was snow on the trails at Bryce. We also did Arches and Canyonland. I could definitely do the whole thing again, take more time, and hike more trails.

Thanks for the post. We are going to try to do a similar trip in the spring. I was wondering where you got the information on all the different hikes.

My daughter lives in St George and has a season pass to the parks and has hiked several of the trails. She saved Angels Landing so we could experience it for the first time together.

What I normally do is first visit National Park Service and look up the park. Under "Things to Do" ther is usually a section for hiking and a downloadable PDFs that describes the trails and organizers them by difficulty. I use the park map to look where the trails go. Often on YouTube there are videos of the hikes. There are numerous books you can buy about the hikes too especially at the park visitor centers.

I'm new to hiking, experienced it for the first time in 2011 when we went to Glacier National Park in Montana. It's a great way to see the parks.

What a beautiful part of the country. We visited Bryce, Zion and the north rim of the Grand Canyon two years ago. We stayed in Knab, Ut and did day trips to the parks. We took 89a when we left and enjoyed the view. At that time we had a motor home and we are now waiting on our AS to arrive in Dec.
Kelvin, thanks for posting your trip and the photos. Brought back some good memories.

Day 5: Samantha and I took her car on a trip to Point Imperial, Roosevelt Point and Cape Royal. The day was cloudy as rain was forecast to come in from the south.
