North Rim

While based in Page AZ, we did a day trip to the North Rim Grand Canyon.
This was the second trip we have made to the North Rim, and have done 4 trips to the South Rim.

Both trips to North Rim have provided incredible weather displays.
Aside from being run to the truck for about 20 minutes due to lightning, this was an excellent show!

Angel's Window

Wotan's Throne

Thunderstorm at Cape Royal

God Rays at Cape Royal

Can hardly wait until my next trip!!!!

Really nice photos and decent sized images.
Why limit yourself to day trips? The North Rim has a nice campground.

I know there are two campgrounds at the South Rim (Mather's & Trailer Village in the National Park), but what are the campgrounds on the North Rim? What amenities are available, and what proximity to the Rim?

Here is a link to camping at the North Rim: Grand Canyon National Park - Campgrounds - North Rim (U.S. National Park Service)
It is dry camping with water available and a dump station. We have not made the trip to the north rim in a couple of years, but it is so much nicer then the south rim IMO.

We stayed at the North Rim campground a couple of years ago. It is very nice and has spectacular views. In addition to water and a dump, they have a $ shower, which is nothing exciting but perfectly adequate.

We just stayed in Williams at the Grand Canyon railway rv park. I was actually wondering about boondocking in williams?

The rv park was really nice with all the amenities but maybe next time.

The South Rim is a LONG way from the North Rim (if you drive).

The 4CU held its last Labor Day rally at the Grand Canyon Railway Park and it was nice. Too bad the new showers weren't done as promised. We'll definately go back and check them out. They also have old converted sleeping RR cars for overnighting in too.

I think the photos are fantastic and I agree that the North rim is way far away from the South rim. Both give a different perspective of the canyon. Thanks for sharing the pics. Maybe next time we will head up that way.
