North Carolina ferry

I am hoping to leave FL in mid-April to head home to NH. My plan is to take the ferry from Cedar Island, NC to Ocracoke, NC and follow Hatteras Island. I am asking for advice on using the ferries along the way and campgrounds.

Pretty easy ride. No huge tides so on/off is pretty simple. Just fold in your mirrors and follow the loadmasters signals -- they have been doing this a long time.

We stayed at both the NPS campground (dry camping) and at a KOA, which was pricey but oceanside. Pretty typical -- small sites but clean and well maintained.
