"No, the Airstream"
A short time after the attached foto was taken we were filling up at a service station. A sophisticated looking gentleman drove up along side in his luxury car and asked me, "What year is it?" "A '71 Buick Centurion," I answered automatically as it is a daily question of our rare convertible. "No, no the Airstream," was his reply. "Oh.....yeah...the Airstream it is a '66 Tradewind." ALL,RI-I-I-GHT!" Then looking at my wife he continues, "and I like your hat ma-am." Then with a nod he drives away.

Neil -
I guess he never got around to asking his second question:
"Do you by chance have any Grey Poupon in your fridge?"

It would seem that the only thing missing is a picture of your wife in her hat so we can determine if he was making the comment seriously or perhaps in jest. I know my buddies wife sometimes wears these hats that, ahem, may make others giggle a tad when they go past and cause little kids eyes to light up, and we tease her a lot about them, mostly by letting her know that we've notice the geek hat she happens to be wearing that day and how, on her, some how, it seems to work.

Lynn, my wife was wearing a bright red knit hat. She belongs to the 'Red Hat Society'. Guess what she drives for their parade vehicle. Except for the last parade I drove as Lynn is recovering from a stroke. However, I refused to wear a red hat or purple!

Thought that looked familiar. I stayed at the "Coloma Resort" last March. Just across the bridge. Like your rig.
