No Mid-Atlantic campgrounds???
I was just perusing the campground reviews area, and noticed a dearth of campground reviews for the mid-Atlantic states. Aren't there any campgrounds from Washington D.C. to New York state that are worth visiting?

Depends on what you want and how much you want to pay. A thousand kids jumping in the pool or have to get up and look if anyone is around. Time of year as always is a big issue. I will tell you that most are of the side by side RV Park style unless you go to a state park. There is of course an Airstream Park in NJ. You also have the reservations issue. Check out Fisherman's Memorial in Rhode Island.
Where you heading?

Wife and I stayed for a week at Lake Fairfax Park. It's a county park about 25 miles west of DC. If you query on 'Lake Fairfax Park', you'll see my comments in a previous post.

E PA CGs?
Sorry if this is close to a hijacking - but I have some work to do in the Valley Forge, PA area later this month. Does anyone know of a good place to camp? I'd like a nice place where Page would be safe and entertained during the day while I am working for 4 days (Mon-Thurs).

Try Frech Creek State Park.

It's relatively painless. Click the "reviews" tab at the top of any page here, and click "upload product", and follow the prompts as to what section you want it in, and if you have pictures and web addresses.

Overlander63,
Thanks for the pointers. I added a a few campgrounds and will add more as I go though my browser favorite list of campgrounds.
The PACAMING.ORG page is a very good resource for campgrounds in PA. Sort of like a Woodall's for Pennsylvania.

It looks much better now, thanks for adding some campgrounds.
If anybody has a favorite campground, please be sure to add it in the reviews area. A lot of us would like to visit new places, and these reviews help in planning.

Terry,
I just added one of my favorites - Trap Pond State Park in Delaware. We just spent a couple of days there with some fellow Airstreamers. I have some good pictures somewhere in my collection. Can I add those later on?

If you are the original poster of the review, you can click on "update product" and add pictures. If you have a problem contact any of the moderators.

Elk Neck State Park, MD
I checked out Elk Neck State Park in February. It's beautiful! It is about 8 miles south of I-95 near North East, MD and about an hour from Philadelphia. It is at the junction of the Elk River and the Chesapeake Bay. It's open all year round and has water/electric hook ups. I've attached a link to the Maryland State Parks website.

Out Of The Wood Word
It's nice to see all the east coast Airstreamers come out of the wood work. I was beginning to think most of the forum members were west of the PA - OH border.
