NM sans Airstream

We are just back from a few days in Red River NM. We had originally planned to take Clayton, our 25' Sovereign, but when both adult daugters decided to go we shifted to a condo instead. Togetherness has its limits.

I was surpised at how much I missed the Airstream. I had a full kitchen, with cabinets full of bowls, tools, cutlery, dishes, and glasses, but it wasn't MY bowls, tools, etc. We had a queen size bed, rather than the 7/8ths scale full size bed of the trailer, but it wasn't MY bed. We had a regular living room, rather than just a couch and credenza, but somehow I was never as comfortable as I am in MY Airstream. It is amazing how something that small becomes "home".

Sighting report - Road Runner RV park in Red River has its own informal AS section. We saw two trailers and a classic motorhome, and another trailer was to arrive the next day. Both other RV parks in town had AS as well. Traveling I-44 and I-40 we saw LOTS of AS on the road.

I'll bet you didn't make any new friends in the codo, did you? But if you had been in your Airstream in one of the RV parks you would have made some new friends.

Will be in New Mexico again in late September and early October.

Cool

I have an idea- why don't you buy your daughters each an Airstream and then you can all caravan to NM next time?!

Why, yes, of course. A new Airstream for each of them, a new tow vehicle of appropriate size, and storage buildings for both! Why didn't I think of that?
