Nice little campground near Vancouver BC

Hey guys

Just spent a few weeks at a campground about 20 minutes from where I live in Fort Langley BC (about 45 minutes from downtown Vancouver).

I wanted to take the family camping but couldn't get the time off so I thought I would stay somewhere close.

It's on an island at Fort Langley has 200 campsites and is on more than 40 acres.

You can get a tidal water license and fish in the river (though the salmon run is bad this year, I caught several sturgeon).

You can walk to the supermarket (10 minute walk) and Fort Langley is a quaint little village with an historical fort (used to be a Hudson's Bay fort and the capital of BC)

There is a little cafe at the campground, however the food quality is inconsistant. Better off walking into Fort Langley.

If you are ever up this way, I recomend it !

BTW : Pet friendly, quiet, camp fires allowed, fairly large sites, sani dump

We live about fifteen minutes away from this campground as well and stay there often just to get away. The folks there, Stan and crew, are very helpful, appreciative of the business, and run a very clean campground. They take reservations, and lots of neat things to do in the small town of Fort Langley. We were there the first weekend of August and were the only airstream in the park. Sad, all those spaces full, and only one lonely silver bullet......

Thanks for the info....I live in Coquitlam and have seen what looked to be a nice campground while on the Lougheed highway looking across the Fraser.Been meaning to investigate it for a while now.....this looks to be the one I was admiring from afar!

I saw your airstream. You were near the entrance in amongst the vintage cars.

I was down on the west side of the campground near the barn.

Charlotte, I don't think you can't see it from Lougheed. It's on the other side of the island, Langley side of the Albion Ferry. Check it out anyway.

Yes, 7 of us from the Mission Klassics, the car (and it seems camping club) we belong to were there. Anywhere from 7 to 12 of us head to Osoyoos in June for a week with our old cars and mostly fibreglass 70's trailers (I'm the exception so far -hoping others will get the aluminum disease), and then travel to many rod runs through out the summer, adding the pleasure of camping to the old car hobby. Only four of us are going to Deming meeting this coming weekend as the rest are either at car functions or have other commitments. Are any of you intending to be at Deming? Barry

Thanks Janet, look forward to meeting you, Greg, Mel, Charlotte and the others there. I've got three other couples from our car club joining us, 2 mid 70's GMC motorhomes and a mid-70's 17' Boler (the large one). It turns out I will be able to get there Thursday evening, but I'll have to work from my trailer for at least part of the day Friday (love cell phones). I do have to depart very early Sunday as I've got meetings in the afternoon in downtown Vancouver.
