Those nighttime lows of upper 50's and low 60's make it very nice. We sleep comfortably with the windows open. The daily high's don't last long and the low humidity makes it comfortable. For me, those temps are heaven! No A/C needed for me. I would imagine they are well into their monsoon season so the afternoons cool quickly from passing clouds and short rain bursts.
This one for Santa Fe says low to mid 80's, 14% Humidity, and night lows of upper 50's: http://weather.yahoo.com/united-stat...ta-fe-2488867/

Hi Guys well Rancheros De Santa Fe, is the best for the value we stayed last summer from Apr till Nov. it does get booked up in Indian market time. Tom the owner is a great guy and does a good job keeping it up and note this is as close to camp ground staying with out going to state or fed park, They try to keep it nature driven but with connivances like wifi, pool nice little movie theater. I have had many of my airstream friends come to be with us last year not a formal rally but a few units having a good time , Sisters on the fly come in every year also try it you may just fall in love with the park as we did and we been going there for 5 years and Indian market. My Blog has pics of the park also

Y'all are awesome! Thank you so much! We will be staying just one night wherever we go, on our way to Colorado. The AC is not a problem for hubby and I. I just worry about my 1 year old. But y'all have settled my fear of it being too hot. Thanks again!

I'm going to hijack this thread a bit, we will be visiting friends in Los Alamos in a few weeks (sans AS). We will be staying for a week. While we have a number of sites we are thinking about visiting, I wonder if any of you guys have your favorite must see/do things (we won't be doing casinos). I know the fires may restrict some things. We plan on visiting Taos and Santa Fe, some pueblos, maybe some art museums etc. Our friends (who don't live in Low Alamos, but own a home there) have suggested a number of things to do. Just thought I would pick your brains too.
Thanks

Why not actually camp in the Santa Fe area instead of staying at subpar RV spots? You can camp at Black Canyon campground up Hyde Part Road (a federal spot up the the ski area road). It is close to town. It is next to a state park campground. I live in Santa Fe but camped at Black Canyon in 1995 before I moved here. I loved the federal campground at the time. It is still a wonderful place.
We have a fire not too far from the ski area so call to make sure camping is open if you're coming soon. Sorry for the fire! Santa Fe is beautiful now. The downtown was packed with tourists yesterday.

I have camped at Black Canyon and I didn't enjoy it that much. The access roads were quite steep, the pads were far from level and I felt like I needed a 4x4 to get going again after I would stop. Plus it isn't that easy to get to from Santa Fe. It is up, up, up to get there. Hard on gas to get there and hard on brakes to bet back. Plus, it's deep dark in the woods. Some people do like it but it's not for me.
