Nice campground!!

On our way back from a 2 week stay near our daughter's place in Allen, Tx., we stayed in a campground called Whispering Pines, north out of Tyler, Tx about 14 miles. Take hwy 14 north and follow the signs.
They have a number of sites tucked into heavily shaded areas that are truly attractive.
There are two pools, one family and one adult only. An outdoor whirlpool spa.There is a large indoor meeting room, snack shop with homemade donuts on weekends.
Anyway, it's a worthwhile stop in a pleasant part of Texas(rolling hills and lots of trees). Tyler is the supplier of roses for the Rose Bowl parade!!?

This sounds like a delightful place to stay. Our daughter lived in Tyler for a brief period; my memories of the town are colored by the crepe myrtles in full flower. I think I've read that this area is rich with blue bonnets also. This will be a place to bookmark for future trips. Thanks.

We had a rally there and I agree, it's a nice spot. I'd also suggest Tyler State Park which is a few miles away and very pretty. Lots of tall pines and a beautiful lake.

... in the general East Texas neck of the woods. On the way to Eureka Springs, we stopped overnight a few weeks ago at the KOA in Mount Pleasant. It's just a stone's throw off of I-30.

Generally, KOAs are not my overnight parks of choice, but these folks were genuinely friendly, the park was neat and well shaded, and several good restaurants were within an easy walk.
