Niagara Region

Hi- I am looking for any recommendations for a nice clean campground in the Niagara Region.

Picking up friend at Buffalo airport and then doing the Falls for 5 nights. Don't mind either side of the border.

Not looking for the sardine style camp site. Anyone know of a private campground, secluded with large sites water - electric a must - dump station on site - or full hookups.

I hear Niagara on the lake is quaint but is there a campground near by.

Provincial or state parks are possibilities too - so any and all recommendations are welcome.

Do not have to be right in town - an hours drive is fine.

Golden hill state park is great. We stayed there last year. Can almost park on Lake Ontario.

Forgot to mention. It's about an hours drive east And north of Niagara. Electric and water, with a dump station on site

N.F. campground

We just came back from spending a couple of nights at this campground.
www.branchesofniagara.com . We stayed in a cabin, but they seemed to have a variety of trailer sites. Very quiet, clean, lot's to do, very close to Niagara Falls (15 min. max). It might seem a little pricey for what you are looking for. We have lot's of kids, so the ammenities are what we wanted (pool, mini~golf, kayaking, zip line, crafts, etc.). This is it's second year being open, so everything is pretty new.
There is also a KOA on Grand Island. The zip is 14072. I've never stayed there, but I've read it's much nicer than the KOA that's listed closer to Niagara Falls on the KOA website.
There is a $1 toll to get onto Grand Island, so the back and forth may deter you. It's right between Buffalo and Niagara Falls, so very central without being in the "City".
I only live 4 minutes from this campground, so if you have any questions, please lmk.
Hope that helps!

On our trip to Niagara Falls in 2003 we stayed at Glenview RV Park just north of the falls on the Canadian side. It was clean, quiet, and close to a parking lot where we cought the shuttle to the Falls. Parking at the Falls can be a pain. We purchased an Adventure Pass that got us into the attractions (Maid of the Mist, behind the falls, the not to be missed Butterfly exhibit and others) and on the shuttle.

When in the area don't miss a side trip to the beautiful little town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, just a few miles to the north.
