Niagara falls

Which side offers the better view ? Advantages of one side over the other ? No it is not our honeymoon.

Better view from Canadian side with spectacular lights at night. Also, more touristy arcade-style attractions if you like that kind of thing. Exchange rate plays a factor, too, but fuel is more expensive. Personally, I would head a little further north to Niagara-on-the-Lake, one of our favorite places on earth -- beautiful.

Thumbs up

Either side.....but living in WNY, I lean towards the USA.

First...
Visit Goat Island State Park, the oldest State Park in the Country.

Then try the "other" side.

Niagara On the Lake is nice, as is the Niagara Wine Trail,
UMMM that ICE WINE.

Artpark in Lewiston NY might offer a good concert during your visit.

Have Fun...

Bob

Yes, I should have mentioned Goat Island as a nice place to view. You can get up real close and personal next to the Falls.

Canadian side for sure, especially if you take the tunnel right underneath the falls and then outside to the box seats right beside the Horseshoe Falls.

Enjoy your stay and as someone stated by all means go to Niagara on the Lake for great scenery, shops and houses.

Cheers
Tony

Sbb,

I guess it really depends on how you define "better". The KOA on the Island is typical of most around the Country, it does make for a convenient base of operation, less than 15min from the Falls. They have made quite a few improvements recently.
It can be a PITA getting across the Rainbow Bridge during high traffic times, even with a basic load, do the google to get the wait times if you decide to cross the Border. The Customs people are used to tourists and their 'loaded' vehicles, its usually traffic that causes the 2hr wait times.

If you want the 'back to Nature' experience of the Falls, do explore Goat Island Park. Quite a few just pass it right by....their loss.

You might want to Check out Buffalo....you may be pleasantly surprised

Don't forget the 'Chicken Wing'

.

or...."Beef on Weck"

Enjoy your Visit.....

Bob

We visit the area several times a year, winter as well to photograph the falls. My preference is the Canadian side. We walk across the bridge and then down the wide sidewalk on the Canadian side to the falls, with great views of the American Falls while going and returning. Make sure you have a passport.

A couple other low cost sites in the area which we enjoy visiting are Old Ft. Niagara and the Welland Ship Canal. Google them for more info.

Check out Fort George. Not bad for a rush job after we gave away Fort Niagara and realised we needed something on our side of the river real quick.

Bob, I will be in Buffalo for a festival. I carry about 100k in inventory, the guy behind me in line would not be happy. Koa is fine, I like State Parks too. When working, staying on venue is best, but not allowed this time. We will be at new skating rink. Have not been up there since I was a kid.

Sbb,

Is the Festival in Buffalo or NF. There's a Festival every weekend around here during the Summer.

Ice skating rink? They just built two at Harborcenter Downtown.
