New River Gorge, WV RV camping (where?)

My wife, brother and his 2 young kids and myself are looking for a nice camp near the New River Gorge bridge. My brother will be coming from Staunton, VA in the east. We are just looking for a very scenic park or a nice park close to take scenic trips in the TV. Any airstream parks in the area (further east of the New River Gorge Bridge would be fine also if well recomended)? Any good places to eat some lip smackin vittles? We have a 34ft TT, so need a decent size spot. Any help is greatly appreciated. Will be arriving around Sept 25th.

Thanks, Bigspoke

Oh, wow. There's one almost in your back yard - 22 miles south of Lynchburg. It's called Virginia Highland Haven. There are great wineries all around it. My sister and I found a wonderful Italian restaurant in Lynchburg right on the main drag... but darned if I can remember the name.

Today is a gift, that's why they call it the present.

Ditto on the recommendation for Highland Haven. It's a great place. Friendly people, beautiful scenery, close to Floyd VA and the Crooked Road Music Trail.

Thanks for the recommendation on Highland Haven. I'd found it and it looks very nice. Will definately put it on our list for future stays when we come back out from Missouri (yearly).

FordTruck, your very close to my Aunt's house, she lives south of Lburg on English Tavern Rd. We'll be stopping in to see her after our stay at New River.

Waltero, I found a few camps in the area around and in Fayetteville and will probably look to stay close. Anyone like the Blue Mountain State Park campground. Looks like they have facilities we would need.
