Hi everyone,
I have just launched the "beta" version of our new airstream travels blog. Please, stop by and take a look. It is a new "work in progress"
Thanks Melissa for posting your experiences winter camping in CA! You're real troopers to get up and move in the middle of the night!
Anxious to hear more!
Cool site. That is a fun layout. I am hoping to setup a system to pull in RSS feeds from Airstream related blogs soon. Keep your eyes open for an announcement on here so you can submit your site. It will make it a really easy way to syndicate your posts to AIR Forums and a couple other sites.
thanks for the encouragement and reading. I have alot more to post and will get ip online in the next couple of weeks. We met many new Airstreaming friends I will post their pictures too. I am thinking of putting up a friends on the road page. We even met a guy who is traveling (with dog and motorcycle) with a Basecamp on an extended vacation!
I will be adding content throughout the weekend. Thanks so much! If anyone has stories or tips they would like to share. I would be happy t o post them.
I, too, love the design of the blog ... great job! I'm also more than a little envious of the country that you get to see with your Airstream -- things can be a little flat and repetitive on my slice of the map. My wife and I have been talking about throwing the hounds in the trailer and heading out west this summer, though, so I'll keep an eye on your blog to get a feel for good places to visit.
I will be adding coastal SoCal state beaches as well as some along the Sierra Nevadas where our unit holds rallies. Also, some long the Northern California coast. Hopefully, I can get Roman to go to a trip up to Oregon soon too! Come out to Tahoe! It is well worth the trip.
We went skiing near Tahoe last year (Northstar), and fell in love with Truckee, Kings Beach, and that whole North Tahoe area ... it was incredible. We definitely want to hit that area, and possibly a bit of Oregon. The only hard part will be deciding what can't fit in the bed of the truck: mountain bikes, kayak, etc. ... I may just need a bigger truck.
phoenix491,
here is a photo a custom truck rack on a F-150. This guy carried everything on his racks! He even had small step-outs built into it so he could stand on it to put his gear up there.
