Need place to hook up in Scottsdale / Phx metro
Need place to hook up in Scottsdale/Phx metro
I have to come to Phoenix for a board meeting and want to stay in my trailer. I'm having trouble finding an appealing RV park in the Scottsdale area or phoenix metro. I am not 55+ so some of the nicer looking ones are not available to me.
I need a convenient location and prefer something quiet. Pool/Spa would be nice. Here's the list of ones I've found on google, wondering what they're like from personal experience or if you have other ideas. Thanks. (BTW, I'm not looking to boondock, this was just the best place I could find to post a request for regional advice.)
Scottsdale Trailer Corral (looks like a good location but can't find any info)
Apache Palms, Tempe (Looks nice but is there a trailer age limit in Tempe? What's up with that?)
Green Acres, Tempe (looks ok but hard to tell from aerial view)
Holiday village, Mesa (looks huge, mostly long term?)
Mesa Spirit (also looks huge, very organized, lots of ammenities, is this good for a 4-night stay?)
Good Life Resort (also looks huge and lots of stuff, anyone stayed there?)
Covered Wagon (small, great location, but might be noisy? right on I-17 just south of metro center)
Christown RV Park (small, convenient location, near 17 & Camelback, what's this area like?)
Desert Edge (this one looks great, and I've seen it in person, but not the greatest location for where I will be spending my time, it's way up on the north side by 17 & 101.)
Thanks for your help.

I am at Desert Edge and love it. It's not far at all from north Scottsdale. I am commutting to downtown Phx which is a bit of a haul, but manageable.

Thanks Jim. I stopped by there last time I was in town and it definitely looks like a nice spot. There seems to be shopping nearby as well. I will likely stay there unless another endorsement comes along for one of the closer ones.

Since I live in Phoenix, I have not used any of the places that you have listed. Desert Ridge appears to be a nice park with a good location. I would not consider the two on I-17 near metro center or Camelback Rd because of the location. Twenty five years ago those were very nice locations, but as Phoenix has grown those areas have suffered greatly.

I agree with Richard's comments on the I-17 parks in Phoenix. Desert Ridge may appear to be a ways from Scottsdale but with the 101 right close, you'll find it to not be that bad.

When you say desert ridge, do you mean desert edge?
Thanks for the info on metro center area, I stayed in a hotel there a couple years ago but didn't venture into the neighborhoods much.

Desert Edge is correct. Desert Ridge is a shopping mall at the 101 and Tatum, no RV Park.

The one we like is located off the beeline Hwy. 25 min. from the center of old Scottsdale. Great sites and views. They have a pool and access to a full spa. The name is Eagle View R.V. Resort.

Thanks for the suggestion. Here's their web site: Eagle View RV Resort
That seems pretty far out there. Looks nice for some seclusion but I'm pretty much planning a city weekend. How long does it take to get out there from Shea and 101?
Also, from the aerial view, it doesn't look like there's many trees or vegetation, looks like a cement pad in the desert. What's it actually like?

Too late?
Just saw your request. Perhaps it's too late to help, but we left Palm Gardens in Mesa and really enjoyed the park. You can hop on the 202 and be in PHX or Sctdle in a few minutes, that is, if you leave before rush hour.

We have stayed at PLEASANT HARBOR RV in Peoria, AZ and found it very nice and outside the traffic but still within reach of Phoenix.

If you want shade trees in the desert, I suggest you bring them with you.

Thanks all for your suggestions. I will likely use them next time. I am in phoenix now but in a hotel because I did something to my ankle and am on crutches. Camping is not terribly compatible with that for sure. Thanks again.
