Need Campground very close to Pittsburgh

Visiting Jackson Center today but need to visit family in Pittsburgh tomorrow. Can anyone suggest a good place to camp within about 30 minutes of the city? Near the zoo area.

There really are not any right near Pittsburgh, there is a state park not too far away called Racoon Creek State Park http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/. We've lived here for over 30 years and never camped within 100 miles of the city. Racoon would be about 20 miles out about 30 miles from the zoo, maybe less. We've kayaked there but never camped so don't even know what it looks like.

Madison/Pittsburgh KOA is about 1/2 hour from the zoo. Not bad ratings on RV Park Reviews. (Not the same as Washington/Pittsburgh KOA).

Good Sam lists the Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Washington, but I'm not sure it offers camping. I'd call the racetrack to see.

Welcome to the forum! Have you joined Good Sam Club or other organizations? They have good search functions for trip planning. Sorry no experience camping near Pittsburgh.
