Need a campground near Portland.

We are staying two days at Champoeg State Park for two days this month. Need another campground near Portland. Ideas?

Silver Falls State Park is a short drive from Portland. It's a very nice park. I camped there last July and would recommend it.

Happy Trails.

25 miles SOUTHWEST of Portland

Olde Stone Village RV Park

GPS: 45 12.245'N 123 8.118'W

Full-hookup RV resort immediately adjacent to the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum where the Spruce Goose is housed, along with hundreds of historical aircraft, missiles and space displays. Aviation-themed waterpark is also nearby.

Rate: $35/night

Website: Olde Stone Village RV Park - McMinnville, OR

Reviews: EXCELLENT RATINGS on RVParkReviews and Woodalls.

Note: Free museum admission for members of Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC). For information, see:

25 miles EAST of Portland

Ainsworth State Park Campground
Cascade Locks, OR 97014
800-551-6949

GPS: 45 35.787'N 122 3.060'W

Paved interior roads and parking pads with lots of pull-thru sites. Most RV sites have full hookups, but tent sites do not. A few RV sites in lower level have signs indicating sewer hookup does not drain, and all RVs are instructed to use dump station to empty full tanks. Large trees provide shade for all sites. No access to Columbia River. Excellent TV, cell and 4G broadband service. Flush toilets, pay showers, dump station.

Rates: Full hookups $24, tent/primitive sites $17.

Note: Ainsworth, Viento and Memaloot SPs are all immediately adjacent to railroad tracks that run parallel to the Columbia river and I-84, so expect train noise 24/7.

If you're camping close to Portland because you want to visit Portland, vs. natural surroundings, etc., this park might do the job: http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions...s-rest-rv-park. We've stayed here before, and it's ok if your primary goal is to be near town.

We're eager to try this place out next time we're camping in the Portland area: http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions...ng/barton-park We haven't stayed here yet, but it sounds promising.

Portland RV Park | Fairview, Oregon | Columbia River Gorge | Recreation / Travel Here is a campground that is in Portland, out on Sandy Blvd, it has an excellent rating. Close to things in Portland, be sure and visit the Pearl Bakery in the Pearl Dist., it is the BEST!

RV park near Portland, OR

One place that looks nice is Pheasant Ridge RV Resort. Pheasant Ridge Recreational Vehicle Resort, a top-rated RV park near Portland, Oregon in Wilsonville, OR. I have not stayed there , but have driven to the park and it looks nice and is rated as excellent by Good Sam. I am thinking about trying it for a rew days in my new Interstate before going on a longer trip! Good luck and have a safe trip!

We stayed here three nights a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful park, stayed on the hill farthest from the tracks and never noticed the trains at all at night

We stayed at Sandy River Front RV in Troutdale, Or. It was convenient for some sight seeing, and pretty easy access to the interstate. This place worked well for us. Loved the trees.
