Need a Campground IN Seattle, WA

I will be officiating a wedding next July in Seattle and thought this might be a good excuse to travel west. I know many cities, like ours, have campgrounds inside the city limits and wonder if Seattle has the same. We are not looking for a great view with grassy lawns but something which will not require me to commute long distances.

We are from Seattle; what part do you want to be close to? North/South? Bess says hello to Chummy.

We do a toy show in Seattle every year. We were unable to find something we thought would be secure (since we have to leave the AS unattended all day). We ended up staying at Land Yacht Harbor in Lacy. It's about 45 minutes away from downtown Seattle, which didn't seem that bad to us. And if you're a club member (which we were at the time), it's cheap enough to make up for the gas to drive back and forth.

Chaplain Kent, are you in any way connected to the Military? Fort Lewis has a pretty nice park too. It is about 40 miles south of Seattle, nice, safe, full hookups.

There are some "camping spots" off of I-90 in Issaquia (sp?) area. About 10-15" from the heart of Seattle (minus traffic of course). They are not beautiful by any means, but they would do for a hook up place - also in a safe area. If you don't need hook ups, there are some spots in Marymoore Park (at the end of 520 in Redmond). Also close to the heart of Seattle (both I90 and 520 cross Lk WA into Seattle via bridges).

Too bad it's not football season... you could overnight in Huskey Stadium and tailgate with all the folks out there! I don't think you could now.

I wish Seattle allowed street parking, otherwise I'd offer my street.
Like Mike asked, what area will you be going to?

There is a decent RV park in Everett, just North of Seattle. Very short, easy commute. I stayed here when I first moved to Everett for work until I was able to secure an apartment.

Maple Grove RV Resort, your quality RV Park when visiting Seattle, Washington State and the great Pacific Northwest.

There is also a private park in Bothell, just N of Seattle, lake pleasant RV park. Has good access to freeways and is in a nice and quiet area.

It is known to us as "place where wife left purse in restaurant" for obvious reasons, and it is easier to spell too.

A few hour drive back the next day, pick it up, and head right back home.

Donna can't figure out why, with all the things I've forgotten, this is not one of them

Illahee State Park, very near Bremerton, WA has a nice campground without hookups. You take a ferry in to Seattle (free in one direction). Fay Bainbridge state park has hookups and is in a much less blue collar community. Again, you take a ferry in to Seattle. Both parks have fishing, oyster beds, boating, etc.

I am not certain, at this time, where the wedding will be other than in Seattle. When they get a firm location I will post the area. Thanks for the help so far.

Chaplain Kent,

Check out Woodalls site: RV and Tent Camping, RV Rentals, Campground Directories - Woodall's register and plan your trip for free.

We bought the big guide, and installed the CD on the laptop that we carry in the van, and it's a big help. Not all parks are listed here, but even our GPS doesn't have all of the parks either.
