Traveling late April to NE AZ or see Hubbell Trading Post and Canyon De Chelly National Monument before heading north into Utah. Need suggestions of campgrounds.
Thanks
Camp ground at Canyon Dr Chelly is free.
Used to be a real good silver smith at visitor center.
Might think of going down to the Mogollon rim country, some nice camping there and much better than than Canyon.Around Forest Lakes area there is pay CG and free areas to camp. Also the Petrified Forst NP and Painted Desert on I-40. Not much camping in that area.
From a man that is older than the mountains and got twice as much dust

Homolovi state park near Winslow has a nice CG with partial hookups.
At the southern entrance to Petrified Forest NP, there are two rock shops that allow overnight parking, no hookups.
There is no campground in the National Park. But the Park is definitely worth a visit. We have volunteered there while living in our AS near the Visitor Center.
Wow, if you are in NE AZ, you have to visit Monument Valley! The Navajo Nation runs a campground there right in the middle of some of the most beautiful scenery on earth. Pic follows...
