National Parks

For those who might be interested "The Great Courses" offers many different courses covering multiple subjects. They currently have a sale on going and one of the items is the National Parks. It covers every national park etc. in 30 minute segments. It looked very interesting so I downloaded it. In the past I have purchased the ones on cooking, which are done by the CIA and have found them very well done and interesting.

Anyway thought some might be interested in what they have.

The series we picked up is about the geology of the areas where national parks are located. We have looked at the lectures on Yellowstone, Tetons, and the coastal area. Learning that the volcanic and plate movement is quite interesting and gives a little perspective to the changes we have seen in the last 40-50 years. The park features have a considerable head start and continue moving and developing. Does give one a good background for a visit. Safe travels. Pat

Piggy Bank - google for "the great courses" -- its an online program offering various formats of university courses, some being reading materials and recorded (live) lectures, some videos, etc. all able to be handled quite often while you drive, or listening when on vacation -- it's a good series IMHO.
