Shane, great thread. I live in WA State and woud have never considered a trip to JC. I certainly will now. Hope I never need to though. When we were looking at Trailers the support and goodwill of this community had a big influence in our purchase. We are having a ball and never looking back.

The trip "home" is well worth it, made more-so if not needed.

Keep the faith Shane....

Shane, I apologize. I wasn't trying to rain on your parade AT ALL.

I was only trying to save others from the floor replacement I went through. You were smart and lucky to catch your problem earlier than I did. I know they have fixed the problem with the windows when they welded the seams... and I am delighted to hear about the new rubber gasket. I was really trying to continue to warn others - perpetual inspection is a good idea, especially in the 2006-2009 models.

I had mine repaired at OODM - and am pretty happy with their work. (I chose them because they were CLOSE & Overlande63 is a buddy), but the mothership will always be my first choice. I have family in Ohio and can visit while having repairs / maintenance done.

I'm delighted to hear about the gasket on the new ones.... Sounds like much overdue, plus they ought to routinely retrofit them on anyone who gets service for floor leak/rot. I really like that new plank floor look - subtly different from the older stuff but so much richer. I'da paid them to take it all the way THRU the bedroom.

I hope you've visited the bicycle museum while there - I found the technology fascinating - and some of the really ODD designs for propulsion were a hoot. The variation & invention that went into bicycles is fascinating. A lot of what Wilber & Orville Wright learned in their bicycle shop was used in their first airplane designs (Notice the chain drive propellers).

Cool. Will you be going home tomorrow? Lots of storms crossing the country, so check weather reports.

Get any cool stuff in the store?

If you have the time stay over night at the terraport. Test and use everything - and I mean everything. I have three major issues with mine and would have be out more $$ if I had not done this.

One was a bad gas leak to the heater.

Shane. Really be careful of the weather on Friday. I live just north of J.C. and the potential for hail, tornado's, etc. is there from Ohio south towards the Gulf...especially Kentucky and Tennessee. You might want to hole up Friday night. That will give you time to check the weather tightness of the repair before you leave the factory. I would not want to be caught in that storm towing a trailer. Good luck. Sounds like you had a great experience!

Thinking of you, Shane, I ditto on the weather care, it's been pretty bad out there as I'm sure you know.

Glad things are going well. Bring DW back for Alumapalooza. If you think the experience is great now, it is magnified to the inth degree when the Airstream owners and the Airstream builders party together! The factory is opened up and you get to chat with those on the line, town has it's yearly festival with entertainment, the Troubadors, YOU WILL LOVE THEM, those sons of hitches! As a devotee you just can't let that rally slip on by, really. You'll meet everybody it seems. That in itself is a pretty cool phenomenon. And now you know your way.

Well they picked her up at 7:00 am to finish some cosmetic things,,..should be done completely today. I tried everything last night. Works good.
I'm not coming home till probably Sunday morning. Gonna give it a good day of full use with the rain before I leave.

Plus if a tornado hits or gets near I can get in the shelter here.

Thanks for the well wishes.

I will have a summarization before I leave. When things are done.

Shane
