I hope that's not the case for us. Although we may need to bring a tarp along incase it rains (few small leaks) but at lease I found one in silver LOL Maybe no one will notice.

But that's all for another forum.

Ah, Guy Clark, another of my favorite artists. Come on down, I need to get a bunch of those 'keep Austin Wierd' bumperstickers.

... while you're on iTunes check out "Road Hawg" from the same CD.

Gotta love S.C.O.T.S. and "Liquored Up & Laquered Down." I've got a 6-CD changer so won't go to individual songs. These will add at least 9 octane to my right foot!

'Swingers' movie soundtrack -- Swing. What else?
Classic Sinatra
Mills Brothers - The Anthology 1931-1968
Alison Kraus -- 'Now that I've found you'
The Be Good Tanyas -- 'Blue Horse' 'Chinatown' (Vancouver BC Alt/Folk)
The Waifs -- 'Sink or Swim' (Aussie Alt/Folk)
Gillian Welch -- 'Time (The Revelator)'
Texas Tornados -- anything (I grew up listening to Sir Doug and Flaco!)
Miles Davis -- for the long road on dark nights
Zydeco -- you pick it -- Clifton Chenier, Beausoleil
Angelique Kidjo -- 'Black Ivory Soul'

Staying awake without caffeine:
Neil Young & Crazy Horse -- 'Weld' live concert
Best of the Mavericks
Cubanismo -- anything they do!
Shakira -- 'Donde estan los ladrones?' (Spanish language version really rocks -- totally different than kiddie pop English version!)

And the best blues side I've ever heard:
Luther Allison -- 'Live in Chicago' disc one

Hey 61 Overlander,

I'd sure like one of those stickers for the Minnow too.
Are you takin orders !!!

As a picker I've played Guy Clarks song "Home Grown Tomatos" a gazillion times. You're making me want to hear a little Jerry Jeff Walker, Joe Ely, & Delbert McClinton too

I may need a trip to Austin this summer .

College Radio Stations

I'm sitting listening online to a recommendation I will make for the 2nd time to these Forums. College radio stations can be rough-hewn and all over the map. You'll be amply rewarded if you find a time of the week and a music genre that work for you. A web search that works is to pull up http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/locate on the web. Enter a zip code of your camping or home location, select 'College' in the station format and you're on your own.... (you were afraid I'd say that).

Some require additional services like RealPlayer if you listen online. AND that is a viable proposition ONLY if you have a broadband connection. Hopefully you can find something locally that you can connect to directly. Radio station websites usually have a programming schedule.

My favorite: KSYM 90.1 FM - San Antonio, TX. The website allows you to get a free 14 day trial of RealPlayer. I enjoy listening later Friday afternoons and Saturday afternoons. My can't-miss is Sundays from noon to 2:00 for the 'Hillbilly Hitparade.' This makes me want to get my computer hooked up to my home stereo!

Got yer dancin' boots on?

St. Louis local radio on web

One of our favorites in the St. Louis area...KDHX 88.1, they are on the web and offer a HUGE variety of music genres. Rock-a-billy, road house, blues, old C & W, raggae, ska, irish, spanish, latin, bluegrass, hard rock, techno...all in two hopur blocks round the clock.

We've listened to the web site when unable to get any "good" radio around the country. KDHX.org

Collections of "oldies" -- for us that is the late 50's-70's
like the Four Tops, Temptations

Why can't I ever do these poll things? Is it AOL that is the problem....I get a message about validity.
