mud/rock flaps

I'd appreciate comments from anyone who has used either the "Rockstar" or "Rocktamer" brand of hitch mounted rock/mud guards Tnx

Thumbs up

We use the draw-bar mounted Towtector brand. Many miles on the Adirondack back roads, still chip-less.

What they said.
I have Rock Tamers with the new Airstream logo. You can purchase the logo separately from Airstream. We also have them mounted on an Airsafe Hitch. Make sure it is not mounted to low and adjust the bars to cover your trailer.
Once done correctly, no damage.

I've used the Rock Tamers on my Ford 250 for over 8 years to protect my 2004 Airstream Classic from rock dents. I've had very few dents to occur. I recommend that you add light oil to the steel allen set screw threads to prevent them from binding with the bronze internal yoke threads after tightening or loosening rock guard flaps from the hitch.

I made my own. Two pieces of aluminum angle and two large mud flaps that I picked up at my local Fruehauf semi-trailer dealer. I drilled thru the flaps and thru the angles and bolted the flaps to the angle. Then the angle ,I shoved into the ends of my hitch. The angle and flaps are held into the hitch with rubber tarp straps. They have been on the truck and never take off since I have had the airstream. The Tow vehicle is a F350 1 ton single wheel ,crewcab. These flaps stay on year round.

So would these take the place of rock guards on the trailer?
